Emergencies are not always physically traumatic and obvious. Sometimes, your pet's symptoms are much less noticeable. If you're ever unsure, please give us a call. However, there are some conditions that undoubtedly constitute an emergency. In the event your pet exhibits any of the following, bring them to us or a referral emergency hospital immediately:
Wheezing or breathing difficulties
Vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours
Unconsciousness and an inability to wake up
Injuries from blunt force trauma, such as suspected broken bones
Blood in vomit, urine, or stool
Swollen abdomen
Sudden disorientation and confusion
Eye injuries or severe irritation
Ingestion of something toxic (see poison control info on ASPCA.org)
Any of these symptoms means your pet needs animal emergency care. Keep calm and transport your pet to us or the nearest 24/7 emergency referral hospital. For any questions or concerns, please contact us today at (408) 238-0690!
